Distribution of Radon Concentration in Dwelling and Lung Cancer Risk

Description
Measurement radon concentration in dwelling on 11 location in Java and Sumatra island was carried out, to assess the exposure of population of radon. Radon concentration between 2 to 155 Bq/m3 and mean geometric value is 3.1 Bq/m3 with geometrical standard deviation is 1.2. Linear correlation exist between radon concentration with dwelling function (sleeping room/family room) and floor type. The life time risk of lung cancer for chronic radon exposure at home about 5900/year, using the risk factor proposed by UNSCEAR 2000. (author)
