Nuclear-physical study of material-hydrogen

Description

Two nuclear-physical methods of study of concentration hydrogen isotopes distributions in thickness of studied materials are described and compared. Both methods are based on recording energy spectra of the interaction products in one case of cyclotron accelerated protons (Ep=20 MeV), and in another one of generator monochromatic neutrons (Ep=14 MeV) qith hydrogen containing in the material. The hydrogen detection limit for the first method is 10-5 at.H/at.M (where M is a metal) and for the second one - 10-1 at.H/at.M and 10-3at. D,T/at.M, respectively, for deuterium and tritium. It is shown that the methods of hydrogen grading using nucleons can be successfully used for studying physical phenomena occuring in the substance with hydrogen participation.
