Necessary Infrastructure to Optimize the Benefit from Using Advanced NE Systems, including FR

  • 1. International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna (Austria)

Description

Further development within IAEA/INPRO: • Significant efforts in current INPRO projects dealing with nuclear infrastructure are focused on quantitative assessment of the resource, economic and non- proliferation incentives for multilateral arrangement of NFC. • At the next stage, realities of typical region or group of countries could be taken into account which would require more emphases on specific conditions of the system and more comprehensive analysis of legal, institutional and institutional issues of possible multilateral arrangement. Possible areas for collaboration with GIF: • Cross checking of technical and economic database on the advanced and innovative reactor systems used in GIF and INPRO (FR, MSR, etc.). • Economics of CNFC with thermal and fast reactors. • Joint consideration of institutional and infrastructure conditions for the use of GIF systems in the global nuclear architecture.
