Post-collision interaction in e− + H2 → H + H−dissociative electron attachment

  • 1. Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, University of Bonn, D53115 Bonn (Germany)

Description

Present R-matrix calculations for dissociative electron attachment on H2 suggest a different explanation for the structure around 10.5 eV than the traditional one: the fragmentation process seems to be provided by the 3Σ+u state of H2 and the electron attachment occurs after the collision process.
