Code of practice for the carriage of radioactive materials by road
Creators
Description
The code of practice sets out the minimum precautions to be taken and the control measures to be applied to avoid injury to health from ionising radiations in the transport of radioactive materials by road. There are three categories of consignment for which no special consent is required. However some consignments require approval from the Secretary of State for Transport before transport. The code is in four parts, the first applicable to all concerned with the transport, the second to the consignor, the third to the carrier and the fourth to the driver of the transporting vehicle.
