This research program is divided into two diagnostic development projects: Task 1. Charged fusion product diagnostics by spectral analysis of ioncyclotron emission. Task 2. Safety factor, q(r) measurements, a study of transport in the PBX-M tokamak plasma. We report on the progress over the period covering October 15, 1990--July 14, 1991
