EPR of Gd(3) ion and parameters of transit+ons in CsSrCl3 crystal
Description
Angular and temperature dependences of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of Gd(3) ions in the temperature range from 100 to 410 K have been studied. Temperature dependences of parameters of three subsequent structural phase transitions of the shift type occurring at 385, 375 and 362 K in the CsSrCl3 crystal. Constancy of a line width of EPR of Gd(3) ion at T=T0+ has been established which means the absence of increase or deceleration of local fluctuations of the transition parameter. It is concluded on the basis of constancy of EPR line shape at T→T0- that there is no asymmetry of local fluctuations of the transition parameter. It is shown that all the three phase transitions are 1-type transitions. Thermodynamic potential expansion parameters have been determined
