Decentralized electrical distribution or how to take solar energy out of the shadow

Creators

Description

A summary of recent projects to provide electrical power to isolated rural villages in Morocco through the Office National d'Electricite (ONE) of Morocco was presented. In general, the effort in Morocco to provide electricity to remote villages has advanced by connecting these communities to the nation-wide electrical distribution network. In one year alone, 1,044 villages were connected to the national power grid. However, some villages remain inaccessible and ONE has experimented in providing solar photovoltaic power kits to the residents of 87 villages of the Boujaad region. Marketing and financing strategies to distribute the solar kits are summarized. 1 tab
