Massive-nuclei-fusion calculations using a fusion-quasi-fission-competition model

Description
The complete fusion of two massive nuclei is analyzed in the framework of various models. A model of the competition between the complete fusion and quasi-fission in the initial dinuclear system is proposed. The results of the analysis of the complete fusion of two massive nuclei in the 100Mo + 100Mo and 110Pd + 110Pd reactions are discussed. These reactions may be a good test for various concepts of the compound nucleus formation mechanism. (author). 14 refs., 6 figs
