Expectations for strange-particle production by high-energy neutrinos

Description
Inclusive strange-particle production by high-energy neutrinos through charmed-particle and heavy-lepton channels is investigated. The charm processes are discussed in the framework of the simple Weinberg-Salam gauge model, while the reactions involving heavy leptons are considered in two classes of gauge models which admit SU(2)- or SU(3)-type transitions among the leptons. Estimates obtained for associated-strange-pair-production, single-strange-particle production (ΔS/ΔQ=-1; ΔS= +- 1, ΔQ=0; ΔS= +- 2) and dileptonic processes allow one to select rather clear signatures for each production channel
