π-meson chanel of the LIYF AS USSR synchrocyclotron

Description
Design and characteristics are described of a π-meson channel of a synchrocyclotron intended for implementation of the program of studying pion-nucleon interaction for energies up to 700 Mev. The channel ensures focusing of up to 105 π-mesons with 490 Mev energy with a spread of pulses of Δ p/p=0.06. Beam divergence does not exceed 1 deg. The experimental data are compared with computation results
