Simulating radiation compression of Z-pinch
Description
The results of one-dimensional calculations of Z-pinch dynamics under conditions, when radiation effects and plasma escape from the region of compression become essential, are presented. Pinch transition to the mode of radiation compression is shown to be followed by the formation of plasma cooling wave propagating from the pinch periphery to its axis.
