Atomic ordering effect on structure formation of high chromium nickel base alloy

Description

Methods of phase, microstructural analyses and X-ray microanalysis are applied to investigate the effect of heat treatment-induced atomic ordering on microstructure of heat resisting nickel base alloys, containing about 30% Cr, 5% Mo, 3% Ti and 1% Al. It is shown that ordering treatment consists initialy in holding at 4500 deg C for 20h and then at 850 deg C for 16 h and makes it possible to get a high long-term rupture strength due to high thermal stability of strengthening phases. Ordering heat treatment is marked to be a promising method to affect strength and plastic properties of heat resisting alloys
