Synthesis and derivatographic investigation of potassium octacyanotungstate (4)
Creators
Description
The interaction between the rated quantities of potassium cyanide and WO(OH)3 hydroxide resulted in preparation of potassium dioxytetracyanotungstate (4), K4[WO2(CN)4]X6H2O. The latter, while interacting with a saturated potassium cyanide solution in a carbon dioxide flow transforms to potassium octacyanotungstate (4). The process of K4[W(CH)8]x2H2O compound thermolysis in argon atmosphere is studied. It is found that, after dehydration of the complex, there occurs thermal transformation of K4[W(CN)8] to K3[W(CN)7] and then to K3[W(CN)6]. The thermolysis final product is tungsten carbide WC
