Spectral-angular characteristics of radiation from a beam of relativistic charged particles in an undulator: II

  • 1. P.N. Lebedev Physics Institute, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Moscow

Description

General expressions are derived in the dipole approximation for the spectral-angular distribution of the intensity for the different polarization components of undulator radiation produced by a beam of relativistic charged particles. The dependence of the radiation characteristics on the angular spread of the particles is studied quantitatively, and minimization of the energy spread of the undulator radiation by means of diaphragms is described. The calculated parameters of the undulator radiation agree closely with experimental results for electron beams
