Oxidation and creep behaviour of dense silicon nitride materials with different compositions
Description
The study was intended to yield information on the oxidation and creep behaviour of Si3N4 materials of different composition and microstructure, and produced by different processes. The experiments carried out in a vast temperature and load range showed that the chemical grain boundary composition is the key parameter affecting the materials' high-temperature properties. Significant correlations could be established between oxidation and creep behaviour on the one hand, and between microstructure and the behaviour on the other. (orig./IHOE)

Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, an verschiedenen Si3N4-Materialien unterschiedlicher Herstellung, Zusammensetzung und Mikrostruktur, das Oxidations- und Kriechverhalten zu untersuchen und zu beschreiben. Es wurden daher in weite Temperatur- und Lastbereichen entsprechende Versuche durchgefuehrt, wobei sich als Schluesselparameter fuer die Hochtemperatureigenschaften die chemische Zusammensetzung der Korngrenzenphase herausgestellt hat. Zwischen Oxidations- und Kriechverhalten einerseits, sowie zwischen beiden und der Mikrostruktur andererseits, konnten wichtige Beziehungen festgestellt werden. (orig./IHOE)
