On structure of hexagonal phases Asub(n)Bsub(n-1)Osub(3n)

Description

By means of solid phase synthesis hexagonal analogues of perovskite of the composition Asub(n)Bsub(n-1)Osub(3n) (n=4; 5; 6; A=La, Ca, Sr, Ba; B=Ti, Cr, Fe, Al, Mg, Zn) have been prepared. The structure of the phases is established by X-ray structural analysis, vibrational and 57Fe Moessbauer spectroscopy. It is shown, that all the phases can be considered as phases built of closely packed AO3 layers, the sequence of which depends on the compound composition. B atoms are located in octahedral vacancies between the layers
