Description
The requirements on the temporary storage of approximately 65000 waste drums with different waste forms converted into units of 200 liters, consisting of conditioned waste of the Nuclear Research Centre Karlsruhe are defined in the regulations of a licence according to section 9 of the Atomic Energy Act. Thus, the wastes have to be conditioned in such a way that, after being charged into Konrad containers, they fulfill the final storage requirements of the PTB and the transport regulations of the dangerous goods ordinance for road transport (GGVS). The containers have to be corrosion resistant and the walls of the storage buildings have to be built in such a way that it is not necessary to establish a controlled access area outside the temporary storage facilities. Die Zwischenlagerbedingungen fuer die ca. 65000 Faesser mit verschiedenen Gebindearten, umgerechnet in 200-l-Fass-Einheiten, aus konditioniertem Abfall im KfK sind in den Auflagen einer Genehmigung nach Paragraph 9 AtG festgeschrieben. Die Abfaelle muessen hiernach so konditioniert sein, dass sie nach dem Einbringen im Konrad-Container den Endlagerbedingungen der PTB genuegen und dass sie die Transportvorschriften der GGVS erfuellen. Die Behaelter sind korrosionsbestaendig auszufuehren und die Wandstaerken der Lagergebaeunde derart auszubilden, dass ausserhalb der Zwischenlager kein Kontrollbereich einzurichten ist.
