Description

The Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute has commissioned Atomic Energy of Canada to perform experiments on radionuclide migration and diffusion at the Underground Research Laboratory, near the Whiteshell Nuclear Research Establishment. Migration of radioactive tracers, including Tc-95m, Pu-238 and Am-241, through crushed and porous granite will be studied in an underground glovebox. These experiments are valued at C$1.72 million, and were scheduled to take place from February 1989 to August 1990
