Following some introductory, general remarks on the demand for energy and the expected increase in energy requirements up to the year 2000, the book concentrates on the discussion of the political aspects of energy policy within the framework of the European Communities. Emphasis is placed on the necessity to improve the cooperation between the member states of the European Community in order to achieve an optimum utilization of the energy sources available within the Community, and to further improve methods and means of energy conservation and energy storage as well as the methods of managing crises and promoting research work in the field of power generation. The final discussions are devoted to the guidelines set by the socialists' parliamentary group within the European Parliament with regard to energy policy. (UA) 891 UA/UA 892 MKO
Abstract (German)
Nach einigen allgemeinen Anmerkungen zum Energiebedarf und seiner bis zum Jahr 2000 geschaetzten Entwicklung werden die mehr politischen Aspekte der Energiepolitik in europaeischem Rahmen behandelt. Es wird auf die notwendigen Verbesserungen in der Zusammenarbeit der Laender der Europaeischen Gemeinschaft bei der optimalen Nutzung der in der Gemeinschaft vorhandenen Energiequellen, der Energieeinsparung, dem Ausbau der Bevorratung und beim Krisenmanagement, sowie bei der Foerderung der Energieforschung hingewiesen. Abschliessend wird auf die energiepolitischen Leitlinien der sozialistischen Fraktion des Europaeischen Parlaments eingegangen. (UA)Additional details
