Phytosorbents of the new generation: evaluating the sorption power with respect to uranium

Description
Sorption properties of a new class of sorbents, i.e. phytosorbents, with respect to uranium were studied in model solution and real radionuclide-contaminated water. Dependence of sorption on specific mass of the sorbent was considered. Kinetic parameters of sorption were determined and diffusion inside the sorbent grain was identified as the limiting stage of the process. The diffusion coefficients were calculated; the exchange half-times were determined and confirmed. Uranium sorption was studied as influenced by pH. It was ascertained that the maximum of uranium sorption was attained at pH < 4. Exchange capacities of the sorbents were determined
Abstract (Russian)
Исследованы сорбционные свойства сорбентов нового класса - фитосорбентов - по отношению урану из модельных растворов и раельных радиоактивно-загрязненных вод. Изучена зависимость сорбции от удельной массы сорбента. Определены кинетические параметры сорбции, установлено, что лимитирующей стадией процесса является диффузия внутри зерна сорбента. Рассчитаны коэффициенты диффузии, определены и подтверждены экспериментально периоды полуобмена. Изучено влияние pH растворов на сорбцию урана. Установлено, что максимальная сорбция урана наблюдается при pH < 4. Определены обменные емкости сорбентовAdditional details
