Examination of the First Reirradiated Fuel

Description

Irradiation of the first subassembly (C-162) which was fabricated from reprocessed irradiated fuel was completed, and the subassembly was transferred to the FCF for examination and processing. The fuel used in subassembly C-162 had been fabricated from reprocessed material (ingots from melt refining runs 1 and 2) obtained from subassemblies C-115, C-140, B-304, and L-406, which had been irradiated to maximum burnups of 0.12 to 0.26 a/o, plus about 10% additional unirradiated fuel alloy, so that the average burnup value of the fuel used in the subassembly wa equivalent to about 0.1 a/o.
