Description
In spring 1980 a comprehensive research programm was carried out on the natural-draught cooling tower of the Philippsburg-1 reactor. The study was meant to synchronously acquire all parameters necessary for the evaluation of plant operation and cooling tower emissions. The study is subdivided into 8 sub-projects. Parts 1 to 7 that are included in this progress-of-work report describe experimental work and discuss the results. A critical analysis of measuring results proves that the values for operational behaviour and cooling tower emissions were duly anticipated. Even a very critical judgment of the results can exclude direct or indirect hazards for humans, animals and plants owing to cooling tower emissions. Sub-project 8 compares results from diffusion calculations (24 models) to results gained from experiments. The results of sub-project 8 will be published in a progress report to come. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Im Fruehjahr 1980 wurde am Naturzug-Nasskuehlturm des Kernkraftwerks Philippsburg I ein breit angelegtes Forschungsvorhaben durchgefuehrt. Ziel dieser Studie war es, alle fuer die Beurteilung des Betriebes und der Emission eines Kuehlturms notwendigen Parameter synchron zu erfassen. Die Studie gliedert sich in acht Teilprojekte. In den Teilen 1 bis 7, die im vorliegenden Fortschrittbericht enthalten sind, werden die experimentellen Arbeiten beschrieben und die Ergebnisse diskutiert. Eine kritische Analyse der Messergebnisse zeigt, dass Betriebsverhalten und Emission des Kuehlturms sicher vorhergesagt wurden. Auch bei sehr vorsichtiger Beurteilung der Ergebnisse kann eine direkte oder indirekte Gefaehrdung von Menschen, Tieren und Pflanzen durch die Kuehlturmemission ausgeschlossen werden. Im Teilprojekt 8 werden die Ergebnisse von Ausbreitungsrechnungen (24 Modelle) mit den experimentellen Befunden verglichen.
