High frequency properties of Josephson tunnel junctions
Description
The coupling between surface plasma oscillations and Josephson a.c. currents in dielectric and superconducting thin films systems is examined experimentally by studying the current-voltage characteristics of Josephson tunnel junctions as a function of applied magnetic field. Our experimental results support Economou and Ngai's theory of surface plasma oscillations and Miller's theory of the surface impedance of superconductors
