Description
Relativistic Vlasov simulation is employed for the study of ultrashort, superintense laser-solid interaction. A novel absorption mechanism is evidenced in 1D2V simulations. Analytical calculations elucidate the simulation results. Implementation of the Vlasov code on a parallel platform and progress towards a full Boltzmann approach are discussed
