Analysis of void effect in a central fuel element of ET-R R-1 reactor

Description
The influence of the presence of voids in the moderator of a central fuel element in ET-R R-1 is analyzed. Effects on reactivity and on fission rate distribution were calculated. The calculation showed that, although the void reactivity coefficient for the infinite multiplication factor is positive, the ET-R R-1 reactor core configuration posses intrinsic features against accident involving the presence of voids in the moderator. 12 figs
