Photochemical oxidation of Np(4) in solutions KHCO3+K2CO3 in the presence of Am(3)
Description
Kinetics of photochemical oxidation of neptunium (4) by americium (4) in aqueous solutions of potassium carbonate and bicarbonate has been studied spectrophotometrically both in the presence and without americium (3) additives. It is found that under the above conditions neptunium (4) is capable of slow photooxidation and americium (3) can act as a photocatalyst of the process. 6 refs
