Description
East Singhbhum distract of Jharkhand is known for its widespread mineralization of U along with Cu, Fe and other important minerals. Though 210Po in surface water sediments is widely reported in the region, data on 210Pb in surface water sediment is scarce. In view of this, present study was undertaken to evaluate variation of 210Po and 210Pb in surface water sediments of Subarnarekha and its tributary rivers around uranium mineralized area of East Singhbhum district in Jharkhand. The study will help to understand the distribution of 210Pb in the aquatic ecosystem in the study area
