MPN-1 : A computation module for the solution of transport equation in multiregions by P sub(N) method
Description
The MPN-1, which is a computer program made in FORTRAN IV is described. The MPN-1 uses P sub(N) method to solve the one-speed, anisotropic linear steady-state transport equation in non-multiplying multiregions, slab geometry. The MPN-1 allows a maximum number of 12 regions, and maximum order of approximation, N=15. Besides, the anisotropic scattering is treated by an expansion in Legendre polynomial up to maximum degree of L=15. The boundary conditions used are: I) free surface; II) isotropic incidence; III) cosine incidence (aμ sup(α1 + bμ sup(α2) + cμ sup(α3)); IV) monodirectional incidence (delta function); V) total reflection. The required input are: order of approximation P sub(N'), average number of secondary particles in each region, external sources, thickness of each region, coefficients in a Legendre expansion of the transfer function in each region, and type of boundary conditions at the boundaries. The output are: albedo, transmission factor, disadvantage factor, total and angular fluxes and current. (Author)

Descreve-se o modulo MPN-1, o qual e um programa de computador, feito em linguagem FORTRAN IV, que utiliza o metodo P sub(N) (expansao em polinomios de Legendre) para a solucao da equacao de transporte linear e monoenergetica em geometria plana, multiregioes e meios espalhadores anisotropicos, nao multiplicadores e em estado estacionario. O modulo possibilita um numero maximo de 12 regioes, e com a ordem maxima da aproximacao, N=15. Alem disso, o espalhamento anisotropico em cada regiao e tratado por uma expansao em polinomios de Legendre de ordem L, sendo que a ordem maxima e L=15. As condicoes de contorno sao do tipo: I) superficie livre; II) incidencia isotropica; III) incidencia conssenoidal (combinacao polinomial do tipo aμ sup(α1) + bμ sup(α2) + cμ sup(α3)); IV) incidencia monodirecional (funcao delta); V) reflexao total. Os dados de entrada requeridos sao: a ordem da aproximacao P sub(N'), o numero medio de particulas secundarias em cada regiao, fontes externas, espessura de cada regiao, coeficientes de Legendre da funcao transferencia em cada regiao e tipo de condicoes de contornos nas faces externas. As saidas do programa sao: albedo, taxa de transmissao, fator de desvantagem (no caso de calculos celulares), fluxo total, fluxo angular e corrente. (Autor)Files
