Description

Experimental sensors for continuous measurements within a LMFR containment are described. These monitoring devices are: a variable reluctance transducer, the ''Twistor'' extensiometer, an electromagnetic parallel plate extensiometer, a capacitance strain gauge and an in-pile inclinometer. Continuous monitoring will supplement or reduce the need for periodic NDT examinations
