Lamb shift in two-electron atoms. I. The low-lying S states
Description
Revised values of the Lamb shift in n/sup 1,3/S states, n less than or equal to 5, of two-electron atoms with Z less than or equal to 10 are obtained, which are based on a simple and effective approximation for the screening correction to the Bethe logarithm for a two-electron atom. Recent experimental values of the shifts due to Martin are in excellent agreement with the calculations reported here
