Astronomical objects embedded in matter

Creators

Description

This paper deals with the space-time region, outside a static spherically symmetric object, occupied by a continuous distribution of matter.Integrals of the Einstein-Maxwell equations, with one of the functions in the metric left arbitrary, are used to investigate light tracks ; conditions for the existence of circular photon orbits are obtained.Particular attention is paid to the case in which the external matter is homogeneous and the central object is uncharged.
