Investigation of proton-irradiated platinum by Moessbauer spectroscopy

  • 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Obninsk (Russian Federation). Fiziko-Ehnergeticheskij Inst.

Description

The Moessbauer emission spectroscopy method has been applied to investigate the annealing of radiation damage in platinum (with the addition of 57Co isotope) after irradiation with 1 MeV protons at 90 K to the dose of 5x1017cm-2. The analysis of spectra evolution as a function of annealing temperature enabled four components to be highlighted alongside with the initial one that corresponds to the location of 57Co atoms in a substitutional position of platinum lattice. From their thermal annealing character four ''defect'' sites are identified as followers: site 1 - as corresponding to the trapping at 57Co probe atoms of hydrogen atoms, sites 2 and 3 - to the trapping of SIA-H complexes, and site 4 - to that of vacancy-H complexes. 10 refs.; 2 figs.; 1 tab.
