Performance evaluation of the imatron fast CT scanner
Description
High speed cine-CT which was proposed and then shown to be be feasible just a few years ago has become a commercial reality for more than a year. This new CT technology uses an electron beam and stationary circular targets to create a rotating X-ray source to achieve ultra-fast scans. The authors are privileged to be one of the first sites to employ this new technology for clinical radiological imaging and research. The purpose of this paper is to present the current status of this new CT technology in a clinical setting and our evaluation of its imaging performance from a user's standpoint
