Description
The optimum geometry for analyzing asymmetric small-angle neutron scattering data taken with a position-sensitive detector depends on the method of analysis. The usual arrangement of equal incident and scattered flight paths is optimum when the data are analyzed in a manner which uses the entire detector area, or if pie sectors on the detector are used. If rectangular strips or cuts are taken through the data, then the second flight path should be equal to half the incident path. (orig.)
