Roles of breakup processes in light heavy-ion scattering

  • 1. Osaka City Univ. (Japan). Dept. of Physics

Description

Roles of breakup processes are investigated in elastic and inelastic scattering of light heavy-ions such as 6,7Li, 9Be and 12C by coupled-channel calculations based on microscopic cluster-models for the nuclei. An important role of 9Be-breakup process on the elastic scattering is clarified for the first time. It is also pointed out an importance of 6Li-breakup effect on the inelastic scattering by 12C to some low-lying states. Finally, 12C → 3α breakup effects on the excitation of 3α-cluster state in 12C are investigated in 6Li+12C and 12C+12C systems; for the latter system discussed also is the effect at molecular resonance energies.
