Description
The paper presents a short survey of reasons why high doses are used in diagnostic X-ray examinations and methods for their reduction. Special attention is paid to the use of cassettes with rare-earth intensifying screens. The results of dose measurements made for several combinations of cassette-film are also presented. Patients can receive the lowest doses if it would be possible to use DuPont cassettes with FOTON films. (author). 3 refs, 1 tab, 1 fig
