Serum free thyroxine
Description
Radioassay of serum free thyroxine (T4) level as one of the index of the liver function of the living body was discussed. In addition, the measurement method for serum free triiodothyronine (T3) was shown. The principle and procedures of the method using 131I-T4 and 125I-T3 on the market were described. Then, the clinical application of this method for serum free T4 level was discussed in cases of various thyroid states and those of pregnancy. Changes of serum free T3 level when serum free T4 level varied according to the pathology of the cases were studied. (Kanao, N.)
