Description
We proposed six possible reason exchange current mechanism for pion induced non-analog double charge exchange transition on /sup 12/C(π/sup +/, π/sup -/)/sup 12/O(g.s.) and /sup 16/O(π/sup +/, π/sup -/)/sup 16/N/sub e/(g.s.). Under the model, the authors calculated 164 MeV angular distribution. The theoretical results are compared with the existed data and are in a good agreement with the experimental data available. It strongly indicates that the non-analog DCX process is basically a diffractive process through double isobar excitation on a single nucleon and the dominant contribution to the process comes from one of the six diagrams, that is a π/sup +/ collides with a neutron to excite this neutron into an isobar Δ(1232) with charge of one unit; subsequently, the Δ/sup +/ decays to give π/sup +/Δ/sup o/ and then produced π/sup +/ is absorbed by the second target neutron which will be then turned to a proton. Meanwhile the traveling Δ/sup o/ finally decays into π/sup -/P so that the course of the process under consideration here is ended
