Programme - quenching stresses. The RESTAND Programme

Description

RESTAND Residual Stress Standard using neutron Difraction is a collaborative European Project having the following objectives: to assemble the necessary technical information for preparing a suitable European Standard for the non-destructive measurement of residual stress by neutron diffraction; to assist the European industry to acquire access to neutron diffraction which is the only available method for non-destructive residual stress evaluation in the bulk of advanced and conventional materials and structural components; to improve industrial confidence in this technique; to use this technique to calibrate either methods; to resolve measurement problems which lead to misinterpretation of data
