Calculation of separation factors for trivalent actinides and lanthanides in various extraction systems

A calculation of separation factors is made for a number of rare-earth and trivalent actinide elements in the extraction of these by organophosphorus extracting agents, sulphoxides, β-diketonates and alkyl ammonium salts. The agreement between the calculated and experimental separation factors is satisfactory. The dependence of the separation factors of elements on the extracting agent composition, the coordination number of a central atom and the coordination polyhedron type in the extraction complex is identified.
