Fragmentation studies in the Υ region
Description
Experimental results on 3-gluon and q - q-bar fragmentation at the DORIS-II storage ring are presented. Measurements of π0,eta,ω and eta' production, by the Crystal Ball collaboration, show an enhancement of isoscalar production in the 3-gluon fragmentation. The ARGUS collaboration has measured the production of strange baryons, and finds an enhancement of production on the Υ(1S) of -- 3 compared with the continuum. The production ratios of spin-1/2 octet baryons compared to spin-3/2 decuplet baryons is also measured by ARGUS. Finally, new results from ARGUS on the continuum charm production of F/sup +/(1970), and Λ/sub c/ are presented
