Description
Conversion electron Moessbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) was used to study the radiation effect of Xe ion irradiation in rapidly quenched Ni8057Fe1P19 amorphous alloy. Amorphous ribbons kept in melt at different temperatures before quenching were irradiated with 100 keV Xe ions with fluences between 1015-1017 Xe ions/cm2. Small but measurable dose dependent differences among the quadrupole splitting distributions were obtained from the Moessbauer spectra. The observed changes can be associated with changes in the short range order of amorphous alloy due to irradiation
