Patent
Feedwater penetration for a nuclear reactor
Description
One improvement in this steam generator system consists of a shroud for the feedwater inlet tube that penetrates the tube sheet and establishes fluid communication with a feedwater inlet head chamber. A further improvement consists of a feedwater inlet penetration for the reactor vessel that shields the inner wall of the reactor pressure vessel from thermally induced stresses. A still further improvement consists of a pair of secondary coolant inlet or outlet lines that are joined together adjacent to the pressure vessel's outer wall in a return bend connection
