Role of polarization in positron binding to atoms
Creators
- 1. Department of Physics, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne (United Kingdom)
Description
Conditions are discussed for the binding by the polarization interaction alone of positronium to ions and positrons to atoms. For positronium with doubly charged ions and for positrons with the heavier alkalis it is argued that the long-range interactions may be sufficient to yield binding. (author). Letter-to-the-editor
