R and D activities on RFQ and superconducting RF cavities at Peking University

Description
R and D activities on RFQ and superconducting RF cavities at Peking University are reported in this paper. An integral splitring RFQ has been built up with successful beam test. The first two sets of superconducting cavities using home made niobium plate were successfully constructed in 1994. The accelerating gradient of the cavity exceeds 10 MW/m with Q0∼109 at 2.5 degrees K. Inspired by the promising merits of the ADTT concept, our institute is ready to become active in this field, especially on the accelerator research based on our existing RFQ and SCRF cavities. These activities will be extended in the context of the feasibility study of the accelerator driven transmutation technologies in the future, including high average current RFQ, media beta SCRF cavity and laser driven photoemissive electron gun etc. 7 refs.,3 figs., 2 tabs
