Radiation shielding concretes
Creators
Description
Purpose: To attain satisfactory radiation protecting effects and decrease the wall thickness of shieldings by using converter slags pulverized into predetermined grain density as heavy aggregates. Constitution: Converter slags pulverized into adequate grain density as aggregates (for example, 5 - 40 mm) are used as aggregates for radiation shielding concretes. The converter slags consisting of FeO, Fe2O3, CaO and SiO2 as main ingredients incorporated with MgO, MnO, Al2O3 and the like are excellent in chemical and physical properties for use with heavy aggregates in radiation shielding concretes.
