Regularities in erosion of carbides of the 4th-6th group transition metals during laser working
Description
The regularities of erosion of the 4-6 group transition metal carbides when treated by the laser beam have been investigated for the first time. The dependence of the erosion of carbides on the properties and the nature of these materials is shown when treated by the laser radiation. The greates erosion is observed with the carbides of the 4 group metals, the least - with the 6 group. The erosion resistance of carbides is affected by bonding strength and brittleness, with the 4 group carbides brittleness prevails, with the 5 and 6 groups the bonding strength does
