Process for separating neptunium from an organic phase in the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuels and/or fertile materials
Description
After the first extraction stage, the organic phase containing U(VI), Pu(IV), and Np(VI) is treated in counterflow with aqueous nitric acid, butyraldehyde, and sulphamic acid. This way, the Np is reduced selectively to Np(V) and re-extracted into the aqueous phase. At the same time, Tr and other fission products are removed. (PW)
Availability note (English)
MF available from INIS under the Report Number.Abstract (German)
(PW)Files
