Searches for anomalous long-range forces

  • 1. California Univ., Irvine (USA). Dept. of Physics

Description

A program at UC Irvine is devoted to the search for possible new long-range forces manifested as anomalies in the apparent gravitational interaction on a laboratory distance scale. Experiments completed or under development search for: 1) Deviations from the gravitational inverse square law, 2) Anomalous long-range spin-spin interactions, and 3) Composition dependence of the effective gravitational field changes with extreme spatial uniformity, which is well suited to controlled laboratory tests for composition dependent forces
